Pineapple (ananas comosus)

Pineapple is one of the richest sources of the enzyme Bromelain extracted from the fruits core and flesh. 

Bromelain is anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic and has several vitamins and minerals - C, vitamin B1, potassium, manganese.  The medicinal properties of this plant can help to reduce the effects of  arthritis, joint pain and, osteoarthritis, gastrointestinal tract symptoms and swelling.

The fruit of this plant is an excellent addition to any salad or summer dish.
