About Us

June Anthony-Reeves, Founder, CEO, Sr. Herbalist

Empowering beauty at Up the Hill at Loakin isn’t just about creating quality skin care and gift products, it’s about reclaiming ancient Indigenous knowledge and traditions, and nurturing resilience.

Our brand isn’t just a business—it’s a ceremony, an invitation to remember who we are, where we come from, and where we’re headed. And so, as early mornings greet her creations, they carry a promise: to nurture not only the epidermis but also the spirit. 🌿🌟

The Founder, CEO, Sr. Herbalist June Anthony-Reeves, an Indigenous Secwepemc business woman has been crafting Indigenous botanical products for over 15 years. June’s knowledge of crafting and harvesting foods and herbal medicines comes from her long line of Indigenous ancestors and June now shares this knowledge with her daughter, Crystal, whom she works alongside. 🌿🌟

Up the Hill at Loakin’s botanical products are vegan, and nut free. Our commitment to eco-sustainable harvesting practices extends beyond the present: We always make sure to leave enough for the next generations to come.🌿🌎🌱

What’s in the Name:

The name Up the Hill at Loakin is to honor June’s ancestors and her childhood. Both her parents were raised in an area called "Loakin" or “LLew oyken or LLoy ka” as pronounced by her parents..   After we moved as kids we would always go back “up the hill” to pick berries, play and swim, this is the inspiration behind the business name.

Sharing Indigenous Knowledge & Culture:

At a very early age, June knew she needed to share Indigenous knowledge and culture with the world to help bridge the socio-economic gap for Indigenous people and to shed a positive light on the high level of Indigenous accomplishments in business. She uses her Company to show the incredible value that Indigenous herbalist knowledge can bring to the world to help all people.

The Company Purpose:
