Calendula (Calendula officinalis)

This beautiful calendula flower has been around for a very long time.  It originates from southern Europe and now you will find it growing all over the world.  It is well known to heal wounds, burns and rashes.

Calendula is edible.  Use it as a colorful addition to your salad or other foods.  This flower is used internally to heal inflammation, infection and spasms in the gastrointestinal system.  It is a lymphatic, to help reduce swollen lymph nodes. It is used in mouthwash to help prevent gingivitis and cavities.  

Anti-inflamatory, antispasmodic, antimicrobial, antiviral, vulnerary, antifungal, emmenagogue.
